THE 422 FAMILY ATTENDING THE MAY 2007 REUNION CELEBRATING 65 YEARS !!




THE MAY 2007 422 SQUADRON REUNION IN WINNIPEG BROUGHT TEN VETERANS AND TWENTY WIVES AND/OR FAMILY, TO CELEBRATE 65 YEARS SINCE THE SQUADRON WAS FORMED FOR THE BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC

THE ASSINIBOIA DOWNS WAS A SOCIAL EVENT ON THE LAST EVENING WITH ONE RACE NAMED IN HONOUR OF THE BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC AND THE SQUADRON .... WHO PRESENTED A PLAQUE TO THE WINNING OWNER OF THE RACE

A COPY OF THIS PLAQUE IS NOW RESTING WITH VIC AND BETTY KELLY IN ENGLAND, WHO SENT FUNDS TO THE REUNION TO USE IN A TOAST....ALSO MEMBERS CELEBRATED THEIR OWN 65TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY.

THERE WAS A MEMORIAL THE NEXT DAY AT ST. CHAD'S CHURCH in ASSINIBOIA CENTRE WITH CHARLESWOOD LEGION PRESENTING THE COLOURS, AND MARCHED OFF UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MAJOR HARRY KERRISON. BARBARA REYNOLDS, DAUGHTER OF ED. PLANT, AND KEN PYE, 422 PIONEER,PRESENTED THE READINGS, AND THE CHOIR SANG THE REMEMBRANCE HYMN....

ALL THAT WE HAVE SEEN OR HEARD OR SENSED IN OUR LIFETIME, STILL LIVES ON!....
